Mizuno x Brooklyn Running Company
Mizuno and Brooklyn Running Co. teamed up to create a small social campaign highlighting Mizuno’s newly released Wave Rider 27 running shoe.
We approached this shoot with the intention of using running movement as foreground and background elements to create seemingly candid and fleeting moments. The added bonus of this approach was that we were often able to create frames within frames - using out-of-focus movement in the foreground to focus attention to the subject, or simply imbue energy into a shot where the focus was in the foreground.
This was a fun exercise in creating organic moments that I’ve seen while photographing running in a documentary capacity, but also using my experience as a runner and director of motion to block talent appropriately.
